Be there as 20 teams pitch their ideas to support Detroit’s young men of color. Six will receive $50,000 to bring their vision to life!
The Skillman Foundation and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement invite you to attend the final selection round of theMBK Detroit Innovation Challenge – an effort to invest $500,000 in ideas to help boys and young men of color to connect to and thrive in Detroit’s new economy.
This spring, we asked community members to submit their ideas to increase opportunities for boys of color. Nearly 500 submissions were received. A group of 50 judges, including Detroit youth, selected 20 teams to receive training, support and $5,000 to prototype their ideas. On September 27th, these finalists will present their work for the chance to be one of six teams to receive $50,000 to bring their vision to life. Additionally, audience members will cast their votes for the Fan Favorite, an award of $5,000!
Refreshments will be served.
